Artisans in America

Skillfully handcrafted by artisans in Ohio from leather tanned in Tennessee. Each step of the process is deliberately slow and careful: the final selection of each piece of leather, the careful die-cutting, the hands that feed the leather onto sewing machines. Then, experienced eyes inspect the final product and emboss the American Pen Company brand. This process culminates hundreds of years of skill into an impressive finished piece.

The leather is tanned using the traditional “vegetable tanned” method that dates back hundreds of years. Oils and natural extracts are “hot stuffed” into the leather, resulting in a warm and soft appearance. The leather will develop a rich patina that becomes better with age.
